Seismic Ability of FRP at BARC, Mumbai:

The failure of structures due to recent earthquakes has exposed the vulnerability of structures to the seismic forces. Hence seismic retrofitting has come out as an important area for Research. At BARC, Mumbai under Dr. G.R. Reddy. Fiber wrapping has come up as an promising way of retrofitting structures for earthquake resistance. Tests were carried out on a structure strengthened by fiber wrapping. Earthquake Conditions were simulated and tested for earthquake resistance of fiber wrapping.
