Strengthening and Rehabilitation » Glass Fibre BD 80
Glass-Fibre:
Glass fibre is made by weaving fibreglass together to give it a cloth or a fabric shape. The type of fiberglass used are mainly E-glass (alumina borosilicate glass).
FRP sheets are wrapped around the columns, with fibers oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of column, and are fixed to the column using epoxy resin. They provide Ductility Enhancement, seismic strengthening and junction confinement.
They have the following advantages over conventional materials.
Dimentionally stable
Moisture Resistance
High Strength
Fire Resistance
Chemical Resistance
